I just published a short story, "Undertow," which is available for download at no cost in any ebook format. It can also be read online or printed out.
As I wrote in the promotional copy,
This little story may be only eight pages long, but it took a surprisingly long time to come together. It started with a vivid dream and proceeded with bits and pieces of material that I wrote on and off for more than a year. I then put it aside for months before finally producing a readable narrative, which I tried to pare down to bare essentials. The story reflects some conclusions I've reached about life, death, and the meaning of things, after more than twenty years of reading and blogging on topics such as spirituality, consciousness, and postmortem survival. It's dedicated to Arthur J. Ellison, a paranormal researcher whose insights have been particularly meaningful to me. Enjoy!
