In a recent post I mentioned that I was getting bored with the paranormal, and that I might shut down this blog fairly soon. Frankly I was surprised by the outpouring of responses. I guess I didn't realize that this blog was important to so many people. I very much appreciate all the support and kind words.

Given the reaction, I feel I should stick around for a while. Possibly I won't post quite as often, since right now I'm not coming up with a whole lot of topics that interest me. Of course, that could easily change. Maybe there will be some breaking news story or some other development that revs my engine.

Originally I had thought about starting a Facebook group in which we could all participate in an ongoing discussion and start our own topic threads. But as Rossoli pointed out, it's hard to post on Facebook anonymously. And anonymity can be valuable in the group like this; it gives people the latitude to express their innermost personal thoughts without fear of reprisals or ridicule.

Other things:

Thanks to No One for the nice words about Chasing Omega.

Glad to hear that the blog helped you during some tough times, Marty.

Juan, I agree that there are always more questions. And even some (many? most? all?) of the answers we already think we have will turn out to be wrong, or badly incomplete.

Matt, thanks for pointing out the "philosophical salon" angle. Interesting way of looking at it.

Snorkler, I think that what you believe is a lot less important than how you feel. Hopefully you're in a better place emotionally than you were before. If your current belief system has helped you get there, then it's all for the best.

And again, thanks to everybody who shared his or her feelings and experiences. I can't list you all – well, I could, but I'd probably leave someone out, and I don't want to risk it – but rest assured I'm grateful for your thoughtful comments.
